Team Surf City took home the gold at the Cape Fear Surf Fest Shop Challenge. The boys bested the competition in meager conditions, but not without a fight. All the shops came on strong and put on a good showing. Pictured below left to right is our victorious team: Knox Harris, Fisher Heaverly, Gabe Morvil and Peter Viele, shot by Chandler Hatch. Photos below by Robbie Johnson and Zlotty photography featured on the Surf Carolina Magazine Facebook and UNCW Surf Club/Cape Fear Surf Fest Facebook. Check 'em out! (hopefully more coming soon!)
Surf City is super stoked to announce the addition of premiere professional surfer, Knox Harris to our roster! Knox will be traveling, filming, competing and most notably, attacking the WQS in 2014. We join Knox's current sponsors, Under Armor and Spy in supporting his dream to make it to the World Tour someday. Knox is a well-spoken, humble kid, born and raised in Southeastern NC and we are proud to have him as a premiere Surf City team rider. Tune into the live webcast of the US Open of Surfing out in Huntington Beach, CA this weekend to watch him in action.
Good luck Knox!!!

Holding it down for Surf City, Craig Newkirk had a stellar 2012 competitive season. We at Surf City aren't just a bunch of groms...we have legend status longboarders too!

Craig Newkirk in the blue tee at Easterns:
At ESA Mid Atlantic Regionals at Carolina Beach (in Ankle High Surf!) he finished 4th in Grandmasters Shortboard and 5th in Masters Longboard which of course qualified him for Easterns. At the ESA East Coast Championships in Nags Head he made the Final in Masters Longboard finishing 3rd (narrowly missing 2nd) and finished 13th in Shortboard.
He also won the Masters Longboard Division and finished 3rd in the Vintage Division at the 1st Annual Chris Crocker Memorial at Carolina Beach and made the Final of the Pro Longboard Division at the Clash of the Carolina’s at Surf City.
